The Apple Orchard

Mackenzie's class went on a field trip today to the apple orchard at Vala's. She was soooo excited and it is all I have been hearing about for weeks. It was nice to get to go with her and get some one-on-one time. With 4 kids at home, one-on-one time is pretty precious and hard to come by.

Each child got to go out and pick 3 apples off of these little apple trees. It was cute to watch them try and decide which ones to pick. They learned how to pick the apples and Kenzie was being very careful to do it just right. She was very proud of her apples and got a little upset when they were asked to put them in the cart so they could do other things for a while and pick them up later.

You have got to hate it when you pick a big, juicy apple, turn it over and find a worm hole.

Some of her friends from school.

They also got to ride the train, which Mackenzie loved. She didn't even get upset over the loud whistle. That is a first for that.

Mackenzie is very easily distracted and I find that getting her to look at the camera long enough to get a picture is almost impossible. At least I know she had fun.

She bounced on the "pillows".

And she fell on the "pillows".

She went down the slides. She did enjoy the slide despite what the picture looks like.

See, she tried it again. At the end of the day, the kids piled on the buses to head back to school. A good portion of them were crying because they didn't want to leave. I am sure the ride there was more pleasant than the ride back. :0)

Ride 'em Cowgirl

Last week Mackenzie was invited to a birthday party for her friend Rachel. It was the cutiest party. Brenda, who is one of those amazing supermoms, made these stick horses for each child there. It was a "Rodeo Roundup" theme and just adorable. Mac was so excited about the hat, bandana, and stick horse she came home with that she has worn them pretty much all the time since then, even in her pajamas.

The funniest is that now she says that she knows how to ride horses and is anxiouly waiting for our trip to go see my parents in a few months. They have horses and she cannot wait. She says that Lisa, my sister, and her are going to go horse riding. I didn't have the heart to tell her that it will be the middle of winter so horse riding isn't going to happen this trip. Are you up for a winter horse ride, Lisa?

Backwards Diaper

Maddison has become quite the little stripper. She has managed to take her pants and diaper off several times today. I am just sitting on the couch when this little nudist comes streaking through the livingroom giggling. Okay, so she did have her shirt on, but that was it. In all fairness, her pants are a little loose on her so it doesn't take too much effort on her part to get them completely off.

Well after putting on her diaper all day long I decided to take matter into my own hands and I put her diaper on backwards so the tabs were in the back. She obviously did not like it. It didn't take her too long to figure out that she could not take off her diaper anymore and she followed me around the house throwing temper tantrums. I tried to get a picture of her diaper but she was too upset to stand up for me. You can see that it is on backward in the video. Who knew that she would be this upset about not being able to take off her diaper? And you all thought she was just too cute to act like this.

And She Walks....

Maddison has been taking a few steps here and there but tonight she just took off. Everytime she would fall she would giggle and get back up. I love those first few steps.

Maddie's 12 Month Pictures

Here are some of Maddison's 12 month pictures. she was such a ham while we were taking them. It was a much more pleasant experience than the last time.

Kaiden's 3 Year Pictures

I took Kaiden and Maddison to get pictures a week ago. Kaiden threw his temper tantrum right before and then was perfect as soon as the camera started flashing. Here are some of Kaiden's pictures. Maddie's pictures are down in the next post. I am thrilled with how they all turned out.

He's 3!!!

Kaiden turned 3 on Monday. Yes, it tooke me a few days to post some pictures. He had so much fun on his birthday. We went to McDonalds to eat, obviously his choice, with Jenn, Dave and their kids. Then we came back to the house for cake and icecream. He now has some boy dress up clothes and I am thrilled with that. Maybe I will see him more as a pirate and less as a princess. Thanks, Jenn and Dave, for celebrating Kaiden's special day.

It's A Sea Bug!

Kaitlyn and I had the following conversation this afternoon:

Kaitlyn: Mom is it expensive to eat at Red Lobster?
Me: Not really but mommy doesn't like to eat there.
Kaitlyn: I don't either because I don't like lobster.
Me: You have never tried lobster so you don't know if you like it.
Kaitlyn: But it's a sea bug!!!!
Me: It is not a sea bug.
Kaitlyn: Yes it is! It has to be a bug because it has antennas! Animals don't have antennas! Mom, I don't eat bugs!

Where do they come up with these things. Apparently she had determined that lobsters are bugs because they have antennas. Go figure!

Thinking About It

I know that I said I would never do it but, I am thinking about going private with my blog. I have someone who is looking at it that I do not want to. They have been lurking for a couple of months and I am not sure how else I can stop them from accessing it. It is bothering me but I am trying to decide if it bothers me enough to go private. So, if I do decide to go private and you would like to still have access to my blog, give me your email address and I will add you. I hate to go private but sometimes you have to do what you don't want to do.

If you don't want to post your email address, you can just send me an email. Oh and don't worry that you might be "the one". This person will know who they are. So, even if you are a lurker but you would still like to have access, I would love to include you.

Someone Has A Sweet Tooth

Here is a video of Maddie eating her birthday cake. She ate a huge piece and loved every second of it. The post below this has pictures of her on her birthday but I thought this video was too cute to leave out.

Happy Birthday Maddison!

Maddison turned 1 year old today. I cannot believe how fast time has flown. She is such a fun little girl and I cannot imagine life without her. She is a mommy's girl and I love it! It is hard to watch her grow up and know that she is done with her first year but there are so many fun things to come. Happy Birthday Maddison!
