Just what the doctor ordered

I love my husband. He always knows just what I need to make me smile even when he is half way around the world.

Movie Night

Jason and I decided that we needed to have a family movie night at least once a month because the kids have so much fun. We have all been sad with Jason leaving so it was a good way to lift everyone's spirits. The kids snuggled under my blanket and enjoyed their popcorn and a movie. It is these little times that we hope the kids will always remember and have fond memories of. Besides, movie night is a blast for all!
Once the popcorn was gone Maddie found her "hat" and moved on to bigger and better things, making messes. Eventually she will sit through an entire movie and not get bored.

She didn't....

I walked in my bathroom last weekend to find this. I freaked out! It was a lot of hair and I knew it had to be Kaitlyn's. So, I run into her bedroom at 10pm and wake her up to survey the damage. If you look closely you will see the wad of gum in the hair. Apparently, she snuck some gum and the gum got in her hair. Fearing she would get in trouble, she took matters into her own hands and cut the gum (and half her hair) out. I was just sick. It was on the underside of her hair so I just left it down long all week while I decided what to do. I did her hair today and realized she had cut more than I thought and I had to take some drastic measures. So, I had to cut it off. She cried, I cried. It was not a fun experience. I had to cut off about 8 inches.

Here is her new do. Notice the red eyes. She was still crying but tried to smile for the picture. It is cute but I miss all that long hair and everything I could do with it. What I want to know is why this only happens when Jason is gone. Mac cut her hair the first time Jason deployed and now Kaitlyn. Argh! Oh well, it will grow back soon enough and I will be able to do all those fun hair do's again.

Dumpster diving

Okay, so not quite dumpster diving but none the less she was in the garbage looking for the goods. I was in a short meeting and came out to find this. Apparently she saw me throw these away and decided she wanted them. There's nothing like chips straight out of the garbage.

Tampon tornado...

I walked into my room to find this....

This is not the first time this has happened and I am sure it will not be the last. Let's just say that I have found tampons all day long all over my house from the basement to the upstairs. So, if your kids come over to play and they find an unexpected treasure, don't be too shocked. Last week she managed to unstick several maxi pads and make a "hat". When I got to her she was peeking through a space in them, patting her head saying "pretty hat". Yeah, not so pretty. Of course she took them off before I got a picture. Her little habbit is starting to get expensive. I think I will head to Target tomorrow to childproof my bedroom door.

Craft time

Knowing that the summer days were going to be long for the kids, I went to Michaels and picked up some cute little crafts for the kids to do. They wanted to do their necklaces today and begged me to take a picture to put on the blog. So this post is to humor Kaitlyn. :0)

Obsession

Maddie has a bit of a shoe and handbag obsession. I cannot keep her out of my purses (she will only call them diaper bags) and she insists on having shoes on pretty much all the time. And not just any shoe will work, it has to be the shoes that are her "pick" for the day. She gets absolutely distraught if she doesn't have the right pair. Jason is terrified that he will have another female in the house that loves shoes and accessories.

Just "hanging" out

I walked in the room to find this. At least they were all playing together.

Roadrash

All it takes is a good shove from your brother to make your face look like this. She was swollen for days. Darn that driveway! :0)
