Wheeee!!!

I am upstairs doing my hair when I hear Maddison squealing "wheeee!" followed by a burst of laughter and that just kept repeating. Of course that has to be investigated so I came downstairs to this. They were having a blast. It is amazing what a blanket and a hardwood floor can do to keep kids entertained. Now it was only that easy to keep them entertained all the time.

Easter outfits

I forgot to post these last week but I thought I would share. Of course, with church being first thing in the morning and 4 kids to get ready, we didn't have time to take pictures before church so we took them after. Thus the messy hair and bare feet.

The first of many

The much awaited first tooth has officially been lost. From the moment it started to wiggle, Mac was imagining what she would be doing the moment it fell out. I had to listen to all the possibilities for about an hour the other night.

"It might fall out in the hall while I am walking to lunch."
"Maybe it will fall out in the library. "
"It would be funny if it fell out when I was talking to my teacher."

You get the drift. She comes bouncing out of the school and quickly announced that she had lost her tooth. I then had to listed to a list of about 20 places that it didn't happen. Finally she announced that she was ready to tell me where she lost it.

"Mom, it was most exciting place to ever lose a tooth! I lost it in an apple! Apples will do that everytime." Now she keeps asking me to buy her apples. I think it's wishful thinking.

Things lurking in our yard

Or should I say things that were lurking in our yard. I am in a meeting on the phone and Jason tells me that he found something in our yard that I needed to come see. The way he said it made me very hesitant so I approached carefully. While he was moving the wheelbarrow he found a nest of baby bunnies. These were very tiny babies and so cute. I started counting them up and there were 10! I did not want 10 extra bunnies in our yard to eat things and their nest couldn't stay where it was at with the kids now able to play outside. They would never survive the "attention".

About 10 minutes later I see him running around in the back yard with a large blue container and wondered what the heck he was doing. Well, he found another baby rabbit that was just big enough to move really fast. Seriously, that makes 11 bunnies in less than 15 minutes and he caught them all. It did make for quite an amusing show to watch as he chased after that rabbit. I am still chuckling.

Being the softy that I am, I was not going to let him take them down by the lake and drop them off. I got on the phone and called just about every "animal rescue" place I could think of and was told that I needed to take them to the humane society. So, I packed them up in a tiny shoe box and a larger box for the bigger bunny and took them in. Now the humane society isn't even close to our house so Jason grumbled the whole way about me and my "stupid rabbits". Hee! Hee! What can I say, as much as they drive me crazy when they eat my lillies, they are still just cute and furry. We managed an eleven bunny rescue mission and I left the humane society with a smile on my face. Jason says he has learned one thing from all of this and it is to not tell me when he catches something cute in our yard. :0)

More updates

Okay, okay, I know it has been a while since I have updated the blog. I don't have a really great excuse, I have just been busy. They have me running a pilot at work and those above me didn't think through things as well as they should have so I have been pulling my hair out. I think everyone at my house will be happy when the month is over.

Jason had his checkride on Monday and he did awesome. Not that I figured he would do anything less than awesome. We are excited for him to be done with all the studying but sad because now that he is done he can start getting deployed again. On a positive note, as of now(you military wives know how quickly things can change) it looks like he has a short trip in June and then a trip in the Fall to Kadena. So no major deployments this year. We thought he was going to be gone from June to October so I am thrilled that that was changed.

Anyway, that is a quick update. I posted several posts below that are a bit picture heavy. Take a look at what you want to.

Easter

Okay, I know this is a little late but better late than never, right? Easter was low key and relaxing this year. I think we all enjoyed the day. The kids ate far too much candy and got way too hyped up on sugar. But, isn't that half the fun?

Coloring Eggs

Of course we colored eggs for Easter. What is Easter without coloring eggs? The kids had a blast and we managed to not have any major messes. Maddison wasn't sure what she thought of the activity. She only wanted to drink the cup full of color. I guess that's what happens when you have a glass of pink liquid! :0)

The Zoo

Last Saturday we went to the Zoo. The kids love to go and it was a beautiful day. Here are some pictures.

Too Big!

Maddison has a new favorite room in the house, the kitchen. I cannot keep her out of it. She is either destroying something or rearranging my cupboards. Well, you've all been there at some point in time!

Yesterday Kaiden comes running out of the kitchen looking quite freaked out screaming something inaudible. Once I got him to calm down he told me that Maddie was up on our table hanging onto the light. Let's just say I didn't immediately make any moves to the kitchen because we have one of those really high tables that come with really high chairs and Maddie has short little legs so the math didn't come out right. She even has to get something to step on to to get on the couch.

But, sure enough, Maddie was standing smack dab in the middle of the table with that "look at what I did" smile on her face. She was hitting the light and watching it swing way to close to her face. As soon as I went to get her down, she of course turns it into a game so it took a while. First the bunk beds and now the kitchen table. Anyone want to place bets on what it will be next? I guess I underestimated those stubby little legs! :0)
