Maddison

Maddison is getting so big and seems to do new things every day. She is such a fun little baby. Most recently she has started wanting to sit up in her Boppy while she plays on the floor. She does pretty good until she starts laughing and then she starts tipping over, as you can see in the picture. I am a little worried that she might be my one child that takes off running faster then I am ready for her to. She is not content to just sit there like my others were. Isn't she just a doll?

Is it a Lion or a Kenzie?

I just couldn't resist posting this picture on here. Kenzie was wearing two braids that I took out and this crazy hair-do was the result. She loved looking at herself in the mirror and asked me if she could leave her hair like that when she went to school. I'm sure it would have given the teachers a good chuckle. I managed to talk her into letting me pull it back into a pony tail so it wasn't quite so wild and crazy.

Addictions Already???

I think I have a couple of video game addicts on my hands. The girls love playing their V-Smile. They would sit and play it all day if I would let them. I guess the positive thing is that the games are educational so they are learning while playing. Or at least that is what I tell myself to justify letting them play them when I need a little quiet time for my own sanity!

Potty Training

We have decided to try and start potty training Kaiden. Jason and I took him to the store and let him choose some big boy pants. He was thrilled when he saw that he could have some with Elmo on them. He was so proud of his big boy pants that he packed them through the entire store and showed them off to other shoppers. He kept telling me that he is now a big boy with his Elmo pants. As soon as we got home he wanted to put on a pair over his diaper so we snapped up a picture. I think that the black church socks and Elmo underwear combo is especially attractive! The bad news is that he only wanted to wear the underwear for a few minutes and then apparently the novelty of them wore off because he insisted that we take them off. Will potty training happen at this point or not? Who knows? I am sure there will be lots of "fun" updates as we try to get a stubborn 2 year old to do what we want him to do. I already called Jenn to find out how in the world you potty train boys. Girls I have down, but boys, it's gotta be more difficult. Wish me luck!

Yumm!

I was talking with Mom about a few recipes that I have tried this week that the kids loved and she said that I should post them on the Blog. Good idea, Mom! This is a recipe that Jenn gave me and the kids love it. I like it because it is so easy and doesn't require much clean up!

Chicken Spaghetti

2 cups of cubed, cooked chicken
7 ounces of spaghetti
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1 cup of milk
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese divided

Break spaghetti noodles into approximately 2 inch pieces and cook as directed. Mix chicken, soup, milk, salt, pepper, and just over half the cheese in a dish. Drain spaghetti and add it to mixure. Toss together until coated. sprinkle remaining cheese over the top and bake at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes.

I have cooked this twice now. Once I used regular spaghetti noodles and the other time I used whole wheat noodles. The whole wheat noodles work better when it comes to left overs because they stay firm and don't end up soggy.

4 Months Old

I cannot believe that Maddison is already 4 months old. Time has flown by so fast. She is so tiny that everyone keeps guessing that she is only 1 to 2 months. She is so much more interractive and the kids are loving it. Kaiden keeps wanting to hold her and kiss her. The only time he gets too upset is when she spits up on him. She is also liking her swing better now so I am able to get a little more done throughout the day.

In Mourning....

I cannot believe that The Boys lost yesterday. I knew that the Giants were not going to be an easy win, but I thought we would still win. I am so incredibly sad. Poor Jason didn't know what to say after the game. I think he was worried that if he said the wrong thing I would cry! :0) So, 8 more months before I get to watch another game and get my Cowboy fix each week. Honestly, with the Colts losing yesterday too, I don't even care who goes to the Super Bowl now. Oh yah, except for Green Bay. Yuck!!! The only comfort I have is knowing that a good portion of my family is in mourning with me over the loss, so I am not alone on this one. So sad....

Happy Birthday!!!

Well, I still haven't sent out birthday cards for Shauna and Todd so I thought I would post a real quick Happy Birthday on here in the mean time. Yes, I know I posted days ago that I needed to send the card and it is a bit silly that I still haven't made my way down the drive way to put it in the mailbox. Shauna's B-day was on the 6th and Todd's was on the 9th. I am behind!!! I hope you both had a good birthday!

Long Time, No Post...

The past few weeks have been a little crazy for us so I haven't had a chance to update the blog. In addition to the typical Christmas stuff, we also had Jason come home and have been trying to adjust to having him back in the house. We also have been passing around a couple of flu bugs from one person to the next. The combination of everything has made me a little behind with everything.

I have good intentions but things keep being shoved to the back burner. I did manage to get Chad's B-Day card to him but Shauna and Todd's are still sitting happily on my counter. Sorry guys, I didn't forget you but you are getting your cards late! I also have not had a chance to call up Shauna and thank her for the present she gave me. I absolutely love it and have it placed right above my piano. I hope to get a call into you sometime soon. I also haven't sent out thank you notes for the gifts that my kids got from their cousins. They all have enjoyed their presents and we appreciate all the thought that was put in to choosing the gifts.

Anyways, here are a couple of pictures of Maddie and the front room of our house. I keep thinking that I need to send out pictures of the house but I keep putting it off along with everything else. But, I had this picture available so I thought I would include it.

Our Early Christmas Present

As you all know, we were getting a little worried that Jason was not going to make it home in time for Christmas. They did manage to get his crew out and they arrived home at about 5:30 am on Christmas Eve. We wrapped a huge box and put Jason in it. When the kids came downstairs and opened the box, they discovered that Santa had brought Jason home just in time for Christmas. Kaitlyn was quick to point out that I wanted Santa to bring Jason home for Christmas so I got my Christmas wish. We are all so happy to have him home and are enjoying our time with him.

Here Comes Santa Clause

Apparently the kids were good this year because Santa made a stop at our house on Christmas Eve. Our little Kenzie had a hard time waking up to come down stairs but perked right up when she saw her presents. Santa brought Kaiden a tool bench with tools so he can "help" Dad with the construction in the basement. As you can imagine, Jason is just thrilled! Kaitlyn and Kenzie each got a My Little Pony Baby that interacts and talks with you. Maddison got an Ocean Aquarium Arch that she can lay under and play with.

Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas was a little crazy at our house this year. The kids were so excited to open their presents. What took me hours to wrap was unwrapped in a matter of minutes. Kaiden finished up openning his presents and then tried to move on to everyone elses. Jason and I let the kids open their presents first so we could control what was being thrown away a little better. After they were done and were happily playing with their toys, Jason and I opened our presents.

Jason did great with my presents, as usual. He always comes up with unique gifts that I love. This year he out did himself. He got me two different sets of pearls, a journey necklace, Dallas Cowboy shorts and hat, BlowFlex weights and perfume straight from Doha. The perfume is made of the actual oil from flowers not a chemical make up so it smells so good. I love it!

I think that Jason is happy with what I got him. He got several tools that he wanted that I can't even tell you what they are or what they do, a couple of shirts, a Dallas Cowboys hat (Hee, Hee!), and a model of the plane he flies.

Dinner Nap

I guess this is what happens when Kaiden doesn't get this nap during the day. At one moment he was sitting there happily dipping his chicken nuggets in his chocolate pudding (I know, ewww!), and the next he was fast asleep. Of course, I couldn't resists a camera moment like that, so I grabbed the camera and snatched up this photo.
